FLI LegalWeek Innovation Awards Nomination

FLI LegalWeek Innovation Awards Nomination

July 16th, 2020

When company CEO, Orlando Casares, commented at First International Law’s Annual Spring Conference that “year after year, the company continues to receive industry accolades for its contributions to LegalTech”, little did he know there was another one waiting in the wings. LegalWeek has shortlisted FLI for their upcoming Innovation Awards. This isn’t the first time FLI has been nominated for this award. Back in 2019, the company was celebrated by LegalWeek as an industry disruptor and commended for the launch of its ground-breaking ‘Assistant GC’ app, which grants in-house counsel with access to 17,000 attorneys in 85 countries, 24/7. They praised both the app and FLI’s strategic partnership with LegalZoom, by stating that “securing legal support worldwide has never been so efficient or cost-effective.”

Beyond LegalWeek’s nomination, other industries have recognised FLI’s continual progress in the LegalTech field; The Lawyer highly commended FLI for the Network of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Among the eight featured short-listed finalists in 2018, First Law International was selected as the first runner up to the Global Network of the Year. In effect, FLI got the highest commendation for second place, being the only company to showcase a picture of their full advisory board during the awards.

Financial Times also recognised FLI as amongst its highest-ranking Law Firm Networks out of 750 submissions, comprised of 163 law firms and 47 in-house legal teams. They featured the company in their 2019 edition of Innovative Lawyers, celebrating the launch of the ‘Assistant GC’ app as “ahead of the game in terms of originality, leadership and impact”.

Chambers & Partners, the organization that provides quality rankings to international law firms, has also placed FLI at the top of the attorneys’ networks in the world. Casares said of the nomination that “this is the best proof that FLI is increasingly becoming an alternative to the much more expensive international firms with an integrated structure.”

With FLI celebrating success in LegalTech development, and an exciting announcement of the new FLI NET taking place just weeks ago at the company’s Annual Spring Conference, extensive articles have been written about the company in Asian Legal Business, Business Quarterly, Trends Magazine and Business Review Europe. The company was also singled out by being made the exclusive strategic partner to Thomson Reuters’ ‘Investing In’ guide.

The LegalWeek Innovation Awards are set to take place virtually on 2nd October, 2020. With winners being recognised for innovation in the legal sector and work on “precedent-setting, game-changing projects and initiatives”, FLI is honoured to have earned its nomination.
