The Firm was renamed Vellani & Vellani in 1972. Since July 2000, Vellani & Vellani, combines the work carried on by Vellani & Vellani (industrial and intellectual property lawyers) and Fatehali W. Vellani & Co. (legal consultants and advocates). Effective from 1 July 2015, the practice of M. Naim-ur-Rahman & Associates has been integrated with the practice of Vellani & Vellani. Effective from 1 March 2018, Amhurst Brown has merged with Vellani & Vellani. Amhurst Brown is based in Islamabad and has been providing high quality corporate and litigation services to its clients in Pakistan and abroad since its establishment in 1993.

The Firm was earlier associated with the London practice Amhurst Brown Colombotti (which merged with Howard Kennedy). With this merger, Vellani & Vellani now has offices in Karachi and Islamabad.
